There is nothing like that feeling of finding out you are going to be a mom, dad, grandma, a big sister or brother, or even an aunt or uncle. It is one of the best feelings one can experience….one of pure joy. The excitement of who will he or she look like, what color hair will they have….will it be a girl or a boy. And then the crazy search for the perfect name, not just for the baby, but the nick name we hope to hear them call us.

As all of that starts to sink in, we barely have time to calm down before we start to see the belly grow, hear the babies heartbeat, see the tiny black & white image of the new life to come on an ultra sound and feel the baby kick. Those little toes, and tiny fingers, that itty bitty cry that melts your heart away…these are treasured memories. These are priceless pieces of art in our life. These are moments, we want to capture for all time. The time to capture all his or her newness is between 5-10 days old. Before that your little one is trying to figure out why they left the comfort and safety of mom. After that, they have decided they need to check out this world, start to see what it is all about and are figuring out that a great stretch feels pretty good.
